Friday, July 31, 2009 at 02:02PM 5 year old, Phoebe, helped feed nearly 18,000 homeless in San Francisco, and it all startedwith a letter and a desire to help others.
Concerned after seeing a homeless man with a sign asking for food from her car window, she knew that she wanted to do all that she could to help. As a student of With Care Child Care and Preschool, Ms. Albert, asks each child graduating from Pre-Schoolto choose acommunity service project. Most of the children choose a lemonade stand; Phoebe wrote this letter instead.
What followed was an outpouring of support that led to $34,000 raised to feed many homeless in San Francisco.
Please email stories to info@motherblogga.com of children in your area that have given back to their community to be featured on www.Motherblogga.com.
